SKYE in Columbia and Howard County

The practice sponsors the clubs and associations that keep this county moving — and then looks after the people who play in them.

Who SKYE supports

Two organizations, both built around pickleball, both full of people who would rather be playing than resting.

ACE sponsor

Dill Dinkers Columbia

Twelve indoor courts on Red Branch Road, and one of the fastest-growing sports communities in Howard County. Pickleball is booming here, and it brings with it the ankle sprains, tendinitis and overuse injuries that keep people off the court. SKYE sponsors the club and looks after its players — so a bad week does not turn into a lost season.

Community partner

Howard County Pickleball Association

The association does the work of growing the sport across the region — tournaments, open-play days and youth clinics. SKYE supports that work, and the players who come out of it, whatever level they play at.

Pickleball

A clinician who plays the sport

Dr. Lee is a certified pickleball coach through the Professional Pickleball Registry, which means the advice you get after an injury is not generic sports advice — it is about your dink, your footwork and the way you are loading that shoulder on the third shot.

Technique is treatment in this sport. Fixing the movement that caused the problem is usually what stops it coming back.

A practice with neighbours, not a catchment area

One clinician seeing one person at a time means the practice grows by word of mouth. Sponsoring the places people actually play is the honest version of marketing.

Keeping people in the game

Most of what walks through the door started as something someone loved doing. The aim is never just less pain — it is the return to the court, the trail or the garden.
